. . . that's gotta be good - right? I woke up this morning to a text message from Skeet, "Hey sis 6 million stem cells." This came in at 4:55 a.m. EST. I sent a note back asking if the implantation had been done and have not received a response so I'm hoping that it was and that he is resting.
Even though I felt that this was a good number, I couldn't be certain so I referred back to Steve's Blog (http://www.msajourney.blogspot.com/) and his September, Post 09, Day 4 entry. (Google couldn't help me out here). Following is a cut and paste: "The average patient’s bone marrow sample produces approximately 2 million usable stem cells." So, again, I'm feeling cautiously optimistic - have I mentioned what an emotional roller coaster this has been for all of us?
Steve - if you are reading this, I would like to say thank you again from the bottom of my heart. It is because of you that Skeet and Peggy pursued the XCell Center treatment. Sharing your story has been a huge source of information and inspiration. Continued prayers for your progress and good health.

Skeet's Stem Cell Treatment for MSA-C
4 comments:
Hi Sis..yes..the treatment is complete. 6 million stem cells at 90%. Sounds like really good numbers to me. I'm sure Peggy will be blogging sometime later so I will let her and Skeet continue the story!! I do feel good about this and his texts sounded much better than recent ones.
And a note to Steve..I also thank you for your inspiration in helping Skeet make the decision to do this.
Love to all,
Aunt Becki
Wow! 6 million stem cells. That must be some kind of record. Let's hope they're already going to work.
I'm glad my blog was helpful in making the decision to go to XCell easier. I'll look forward to hearing more good news.

Theres been a couple updates since this one but for some reason, not posted yet. The main one was Skeets input on handicap parking. You can display your own placard and you won't get a parking ticket and can park for long as you want. ( does that tell you something)?
He also developed the "headache" and didn't have enough ibroprofin to last through the night even when taking it like he was supposed to. He's also not sleeping well.
oh yes, I forgot to mention the "coconut concotion". Roberta and I firmly believe that had something to do with all the good stem cells they were able to extract so if anyone is interested, it's in the Health and Wellness magazine, October issue, written by Dr.Julian Whitaker MD.
A friend as well as a retired anesteologist copied the article for us thinking it might help Skeet, and I believe it did.
We also gave him a tablespoon of pure honey every morning.
